The Mid-Semester Reset
I am currently on fall break, and I am taking the time to outline some goals for the rest of the semester and make sure that when school starts again next Monday, I'm ready and in a good place to make progress of my goal. Here are five ways to restart and collect your bearings in the middle of the semester.
Deep clean your space
I love coming out of a rut by doing a deep clean of my space. This means doing the laundry, wiping down dusty surfaces, lighting some candles, opening my windows, and letting in fresh air, etc. A clean space makes for a clear mind, and nothing says "it-girl" like organization and having a cozy, clean space.
Engage in productive rest
While on break, you should be resting, but try to do so in a way that still allows you to live the life you want to live! The key is balance. Do some yoga, go to the sauna, do your nails, take care of your skin, or go for a walk. The options of endless! Take care of you.
Get back into a routine
If you've been neglecting your workouts because of school, or neglecting your skincare and hygiene, you should get back on the boat now. Get back into the gym, start waking up and going to bed at the same time, and act like you're still in school even though this is a break. Practice what you want your life to look like until it becomes true.
Rewrite your goals
Get clear on what you're working towards and remind yourself why you're doing what you're doing. With a few months left in the year, this is the time to even go and look at the things you've been neglecting and start working because there is no time to waste. You can still change your life when you want to, whenever you want to.
Get ahead of your syllabus
I love taking the time to get ahead on schoolwork when I can. Because I am overloading this semester, I take every spare moment to study and try to improve my grades. This means doing as much required reading as possible before school starts again, continuing to do practice problems, and finishing any makeup assignments I need to complete. Being smart is just as important as being pretty, and being able to hold your own in class will do wonders for you.
